What is Energy Healing?
Everything on this earth has a frequency or energy. That includes your body.
Different things can influence how that energy flows through you. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a way that leaves you feeling off, heavy, or drained.
You’ve probably experienced this without even realizing it.
You walk into a cluttered room and immediately feel overwhelmed.
You spend time with someone and leave feeling exhausted, even if nothing “bad” happened.
Or the opposite, you’re around certain people or in certain spaces and feel lighter, more energized, more like yourself.
Those are all examples of your body responding to energy.
Sometimes we are aware of it. Sometimes we are not.
How Energy Affects You
Energy does not just live in your head. You feel it in your body.
It can show up as:
Emotions that shift quickly
Tension or heaviness in certain areas
Feeling energized or completely drained
A sense of ease or discomfort without a clear reason
Even intentions, whether positive or negative, can influence how we feel. Not everyone is equally sensitive to it, but everyone has the ability to notice these shifts with enough awareness.
At its core, this comes down to mindfulness and intuition.
So What Is Energy Healing?
Energy healing is the practice of working with your body’s energy field to help bring it back into balance.
Sometimes people describe it as removing “negative energy,” but I like to think of it more as helping the body reset. When energy feels stuck or off, it can show up as physical discomfort, emotional heaviness, or just a general sense of not feeling right.
Energy work supports the body in moving out of that stuck place.
That being said, I always recommend starting with the basics first.
Make sure you are hydrated.
Make sure you are eating.
Make sure you are sleeping.
If something feels off physically, check in with your doctor.
Energy work is not a replacement for medical care. It is something that can support you when everything else checks out, but you still do not feel like yourself.
Where Energy Healing Comes From
Energy healing is not new.
It has been practiced in different forms across cultures for centuries.
Some examples include:
Reiki
Acupuncture and acupressure
EFT tapping
QiGong
Sound and frequency work
Massage therapy
Chakra work
Reflexology
Craniosacral therapy
Breathwork and meditation
Prayer
Each of these works with the body in slightly different ways, but they all focus on supporting the body’s natural balance.
How Energy Healing Is Performed
Every practitioner works differently.
Some use light touch. Some work just above the body. Some combine energy work with massage or other techniques.
Consent is always important. Energy work is not something that should ever feel forced or uncomfortable.
Personally, I have been doing energy work since I was a child. It is something that comes very naturally to me.
During sessions, I can often feel where something is off in the body. Sometimes it shows up as a sensation in my hands or even a feeling that travels up my arm when I find the area that needs attention.
A lot of clients will ask, “how did you know that was the spot?”
Most of the time, I feel it.
What Can Energy Work Help With?
Everyone experiences this differently, but people often come in for support with:
Headaches
General aches and pains
Emotional tension or stress
Feeling stuck or overwhelmed
Inner child or past emotional work
Chakra alignment
It is not always about one specific issue. Sometimes it is about feeling more balanced overall.
What Does Energy Healing Feel Like?
This is one of the most common questions.
There is no single answer.
Some people feel:
Warmth or heat
Cool sensations
Tingling
A sense of release
Yawning, burping, or hiccups
Deep relaxation
Some people do not feel anything at all.
And that is completely okay.
Not feeling anything does not mean it is not working. It just means your awareness may not be tuned into those subtle changes yet.
If that is the case, mindfulness practices can help build that connection over time.
What to Expect After a Session
After a session, people usually feel one of two things.
You may feel:
Relaxed and a little tired
Energized and lighter
Both are normal.
Your body is adjusting and processing in its own way.
Final Thoughts
Energy healing is not about something being “wrong” with you.
It is about supporting your body in returning to a state that already exists within you.
Some people feel immediate shifts. Others notice changes over time.
The most important thing is that it feels safe, supportive, and aligned for you.
If you are curious about energy work, it is something we can explore together in session and see how your body responds.
